Do It Yourself Natural Homemade Deep Conditioning Treatment

Sometimes one of the most daunting parts of a natural hair care regimen is deep conditioning.

This is because what we use to do that deep conditioning treatment can mean the difference between soft, strong and healthy hair or dry, weak and brittle hair.  Here is why I can attest to this!

The condition of our hair is affected by many reasons including genetics.  Yet, there's one thing that is for sure, we need to know our hair well enough to know what it needs and have products on hand we can rely on to deliver those results.

I admit most products are easy to grab and use based on their promises alone.  For me, I'm always scanning the ingredients to see if they are natural or if there's just too many chemicals to justify buying it.

I challenged myself to make and use a natural product for each and every step of my full hair care regimen, and I'm happy to say I was able to pull it off.  Now if I can do it, so can you!

What You'll Need & How To Make It!

Here is the recipe and tutorial for how I make one of my protein-rich deep conditioning treatments for my hair.

You can also substitute the banana with organic banana baby food, to avoid small pieces of banana left over.  This can happen when the banana is not ripe enough.

  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 1/2 Banana
  • 1/4 Can of Coconut Milk
  • 4 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 4 Tbsp. Honey

Mix all ingredients and apply to hair for 20-30 minutes!  These can be purchased at your local grocery store, otherwise, here are some online options.

Let me know if you decide to try it and how it works out for you! 🙂
