I have been dealing with facial eczema since I was a little girl. I didn't understand what it was and by the time I was old enough to go to a dermatologist to find out, the doctor had a prescription for retin-A written out for me, before I could give him my history.
Luckily I had heard enough about the effects of retin-A before filling the prescription at the pharmacy. Oh, and I still didn't know what it was after all of that.
Fast forward to the information age of the internet, and I discovered that it was eczema. Eczema is a inflammatory condition of the skin that can be triggered by many factors such as the environment, stress or emotional situations, foods, products, chemicals and so on. It is also genetic and comes with a slew of suggested treatments.
You have likely followed me long enough by now to know that I look to the most natural ways for treatments, and with a recent skin breakout, that is exactly what I did.
The moment I physically began to scratch away at my face, which hadn't happened in years, I knew I needed more than just my coconut oil or African Black soap!
I reached for Dr. Sebi's Bromide Plus Powder, a product my family and I had been using for health benefits over the last year. This straight from the Earth powder is a combination of Irish sea moss and bladderwrack, also known as fucus, and has a ton of health benefits. It's basically natural seaweed and when ingested it has amazing healing properties. So I thought, hey, I already know it's beneficial, I'm sure I could apply it to my face to help calm the inflammation on my skin...and that is exactly what it did!
I was so pleased with my results, I did what I love to do, and that's 'share'! In the following video, I demonstrate how I created a facial mask to treat and calm the itchy eczema break out I had.
