My Simple Beauty Regimen Using Coconut Oil
I usually begin my morning routine by oil pulling with coconut oil. Oil pulling is a process of swishing oil around in your mouth for at least twenty minutes. This process allows the oil to remove harmful bacteria from your mouth as well as pull toxins out of your system. There are also many other benefits of oil pulling.
Oil Pulling Benefits:
1. Removes bacteria
2. Promotes healthy teeth & gums
3. Effective for treating gingivitis
4. Naturally whitens teeth
If you've never tried oil pulling before, I highly recommend this natural and effective oral treatment.
Facial Oil Cleanse
My regimen for cleansing my face primarily includes doing a facial oil cleanse using extra virgin coconut oil. The process is simple and it's effective at keeping my skin super healthy and moisturized.
You can already see the many benefits of coconut oil overall but it is amazing as a skin moisturizer. Here's how to do the oil cleanse!
How To Do A Facial Oil Cleanse
1. Take a teaspoon of oil
2. Warm it in your hands by rubbing together
3. Rub it into your face using a circular motion
4. Rinse a cloth in the hottest water you can take
5. Apply the cloth to your face and allow it to sit for 30 seconds to a minute
6. Gently wipe the oil off
7. Leave a bit of oil on as a moisturizer
Repeat the 4th and 5th steps if needed. That's it! All natural!
DIY Natural Toothpaste
I can't tell you the last time my family has put over the counter toothpaste in our mouths. Once we realized the ill effects of fluoride, we ditched those tubes and never looked back. So, what do we use?
We make our own natural toothpaste, and I have the recipe listed below for you. Between oil pulling and using natural toothpaste, you can greatly improve your dental care, naturally and effectively.
Natural Toothpaste Recipe
- Baking Soda
- Coconut Oil
- Essential Oil (optional but recommended for added benefits)
Watch me make it here:
Make it yourself below!
Using a small container with a lid, add about a 1/4 cup of baking soda. Begin adding your coconut oil 1 tablespoon at a time until it reaches a creamy consistency. Add a few drops of your choice of essential oil(s).
I like to use peppermint oil, spearment oil and my favorite, oregano oil!
Apply the lid and that's it!
That's all there is to replacing your traditional, over the counter, chemical laden tooth paste which can be hazardous to your health and your family's health.
Also, the toothbrush that I am using in this video is a charcoal bristle tooth brush! You can find them in your local store and it is also in my pick list on this page!
